What you will learn on this page:
Why study Child Development?
Child Development focuses on how children learn, grow and are cared for – it’s at the heart of jobs working as childminders and nannies, and in nurseries, crèches and pre-schools.
Understanding child development is also really useful in jobs outside of childcare and teaching too, such as paediatrics, psychology, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
Whether you want to work directly with children or use what you learn as a stepping stone into healthcare or education, Child Development opens up a wide range of caring and rewarding careers.
